I opened it up, smelled it, and it smells fine. Tasted it and tastes fine? Can't be! Cap and shake the bottle, open and pour some out. Taste test part two. Tastes fine. A bit mild, actually. HHhmmmm. So,...what the heck. I marinated the chicken for the whole day. The BBQ treated the chicken very nice! It was delicious! Only person who didn't like it was my picky six year old. She don't like anything. The trick was to not tell the wife how long I had the sauce. You see, she won't eat anything past the use buy date. The look on her face was priceless when I told her how long that sauce was in the fridge! She was a good sport about it. Now that I've found this site, I can get some more! I just hope it tastes as good as the well aged stock!

Got a local deli down here in Florida that sells Lupo's spiedie marinage by the pint and gallon. Salamida's is good too. I prefer making my own. Thing is, on the North Side [of Endicott] the resident's made their own wine when I was a kid and they made their spiedies with vinegar that turned from their wine. Very distinct. That's why I make mine with chiati wine mixed with imported chianti wine vinegar. I find though, that spiedies are something that people outside of the area either love or don't. Growing up in an Italian environement and eating them all my life isn't the same for someone who hasn't. I guess it's the same thing as those people who grew up in Chicago think their "pizza" [which the rest of the world calls calzones]is better than New York pizza. Or Tex Mex to California Mex. It was also the Italian exposure that's allowed me to appreciate spicy cuisine from all parts of the world. But congratulations Rob, for your continuing success.

Got a sampler package here in Nevada for our wedding present ten years ago from our friends in Endicott. Reminded me of the old Lupo's Charpit spiedie sandwiches and getting them off the grill in front of the bar in college in Elmira. So happy we can order online now. My wife from Indiana thinks its the greatest marinade for everything. We send sampler packets all over the country as gifts now. Thanks

Years ago when I was on temporary assignment in NY/CT for 3 years with my job, I was introduced to Spiedie's. It was a gift to recently discover I could order by mail any time, instead of hounding friends to send some when I run out.

For years everytime I got back home to Owego, NY I picked up several large bottles of Salamida's Spiedie sauce to bring back to Georgia with me... however I always ran out long before I could get back to NY. Now I can satisfy my spiedie cravings any time. Thanks!!!

I love, love, love the Spedie and Chicken sauce! I grew up with my mother using them. I would love to go to the grocery store and buy some, but I live in Central Florida and for some reason they don't sell the best marinade ever made! Anyway, I just wanted to let ya know that I think that everyone should be aware of just how great this stuff is!

As former Binghamton residents we were delighted to see that Salamida spiedie sauce has reached Rhode Island (at Belmont Market in Wakefield) -- but it's still cheaper to buy it from you guys by the case over the Internet.

I visited my family in Bainbridge last March and tried Spiedies on venison. My family and I are HOOKED! We have since ordered a case of the marinade and need more! We have passed it on to so many down here in the south. Wish we could get it in stores here. I owe this wonderful find to my brother Andy Carr of Bainbridge, NY. He has made this southern belle a believer in Spiedies maranades! Thanks for the awesome maranades!

The State Fair Spiedie Sauce is the best stuff I've ever BBQed with. Man do I miss it.

I grew up eating spiedies and so have my sons. We have taken them all over the country. I have never had any one say they didn't like them. It is a standard birthday and Xmas present in our households. We order the regular sauce. That is still the best.
